PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project is focused on strengthening the capacities of civil society organizations to effectively respond to the needs of the local community, especially in crisis situations. The applicant, Adriatic Aerospace Association, will conduct activities over 12 months in collaboration with partners: the Croatian Association of Technical Culture, Igra znanja, the association for digital education and play, and the authorities of Sisak-Moslavina County. The project will also strengthen vulnerable groups in society, such as the elderly who are at risk of exclusion and young high school students who lack work experience for better employability. It is known that the current crisis circumstances have more severely affected older generations, who are also less digitally literate. Therefore, high school students and residents of homes for the elderly will participate in the project, conducting intergenerational education to help reduce isolation and discrimination.

Learning through play

The project promoter is the association Igra znanja, with partners FERIT, HZTK, Algebra, GRF, MIPRO and A3.
Project description:
The project will train the members of the applicant and partner associations to conduct activities for the creation and use of educational materials for learning through play. Algebra, Faculty of Graphic Arts and FERIT will support the realization of this project with their capacities. A video game for building satellites, an interactive portal with instructional videos for learning to play, and places equipped for playing will be permanently available. The project will also organize competitions for young people, participation in the summer school of the National Center for Technical Culture and a visit to the video game development incubator in Novska. The project will develop the capacity of the association’s members through training to adapt digital materials, such as video games, for work with young people.
Objectives and expected results:
Capacity building of the associations Igra znanja, Adriatic Aerospace Association – A3, Croatian Association for Technical Culture – HZTK, and Croatian Association for Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics – MIPRO, through participation in the project activities (formal education, workshops, conferences, creation of an experimental video game about satellite assembly, creation of video educational materials, consultations and one-day workshops for young people). The results of the project are educated association members through planned workshops, conferences and workshops for young people. Digital educational and entertainment materials, including video games, will be permanently installed at the partner sites, and close cooperation between the applicant and the partners will be established.
