This summer many fires raged Adriatic coast in Croatia, the most famous is the one that came close to burn Split. At the same time another two were visible from the Space. The power of satellite observation could be used for detecting fires at the earliest stage thus preventing disasters that come after they get out of control. Another problem is detecting ember which are hidden dangers for instigating new fires after the main one was put out.
The welcome word was given by the Director of the Ruđer Bošković Institute, PhD. Tome Antičić, followed by the lectures of the members of our association on the themes of their expertise.
